Tasting - Jean-Louis Rose Brut

Name:  Jean Louis Rose Brut
Variety:  Champagne or Cuvee
Region:  Champagne
Country:  France
Year: 2012
Price:  $8.99

Winery Review:  Appealing and seductive, resulting from the balance between freshness
and fruit, with a long, crisp and refreshing finish.

My Review:  In the wine glass this wine was dark pink.  On the palate it tastes very light and low in alcohol.  The cuvee had been opened for a couple of days so it was not as carbonated as I would have liked.  It smelled of dark red berries, pears, with a lingering smell of rotten eggs.  Upon tasting this wine I began to wonder if the wine had gone bad because it tasted of spoiled fish and grass.  The wine description said this wine was for 2010-2012, so I do not think I tasted this wine in its prime.  Therefore, I did not appreciate this champagne.

I did not drink this wine with food.
